Key Position Details:

The PM&R role at United Hospital will focus about 70% on inpatient rehab and 30% outpatient. You'll primarily be seeing neuro rehab patients in this position.

  • Schedule: Monday- Friday 8am - 4:30pm on average

  • Call is approximately 1 in 6 weekends with two weekdays off the week after your weekend shifts

  • You'll be seeing an average of 12 patients per day on the inpatient rehab unit and a similar amount in clinic

  • Team includes 6 PM&R Physicians and 2 Nurse Practitioners

Job Description:

Principle Responsibilities

  • Consult on patients in the acute hospital with complex needs (strokes/brain injuries/general rehab/MS/neuromuscular)

  • Works collaboratively with patients to improve their health and well-being.

  • Practices in a thoughtful manner including consideration for cultural diversity, individual autonomy and legal responsibilities.

  • Actively participates in multidisciplinary team approach to case management.

  • Utilizes quality improvement tools to develop processes that promote continuous improvement in delivery of patient care, patient outcomes, or workflows.

  • May participate in peer review and quality assurance.

Job Requirements

  • MD, DO, or foreign equivalency training required.

  • Completion of an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA) accredited Physical Medicine and Rehab residency required.

  • BE/BC with ABMS or AOA required within Physical Medicine and Rehab.

  • Active, non-restricted medical license in MN (or ability to obtain)

  • Ability to obtain and/or maintain MN DEA certification and National Provider Identifier (NPI)

  • Ability to meet criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and hospital privileges.

  • ACLS/BLS certification required within 180 Days of hire.

Medium Work*: Lifting weight Up to 32 lbs. occasionally (*Allina Safe Patient Moving Policy), Up to 25 lbs. frequently
